Kunbaja was a Roman Catholic "daughter" colony
in the Batschka region of Hungary (the land between the Danube and
Theiss Rivers which is today formed by Bacs-Kiskun county).
Its German inhabitants usually called it "Kumbai".
Other spellings of the name have been Kombai, Kumbaj and Kumbern.
- Location / Lage
The town was in northern former Batschka, directly west of Subotica,
just north of the border with Yugoslavia.
